Where do I find my API key and connector token?
Updated 4 days ago
Your API key is in the dashboard under Settings > API Key. A connector token exists once your customer has authorized their connection, and you find it in the connector's Connector Details panel or through the API.
Every request carries the API key. Requests that read or write one customer's data also carry that customer's connector token.

Your API key
Development and Production each have their own key, and a key only works in its own environment. See What's the difference between Production and Development?
Regenerating a key invalidates the old value immediately, everywhere it's used. Only Admins can regenerate the Production key. Any member of your organization can regenerate the Development key.
Your connector token
Where you pick up the connector token depends on how the connection was created:
Embedded SDK: when the customer finishes the flow, your frontend receives a short-lived
temporary_token. Exchange it from your backend for the connector token with the token exchange endpoint, and store it against the customer.Magic Link: there's no temporary token. Look the connector up by the Unique Customer ID (
origin_id) you set when you created it, using Get Connectors.Any connection: open the connector in the dashboard and copy the token from Connector Details.
A connector token is created by the connection flow and tied to one connector. You can't create one by sending your customer's credentials to an API. To connect customers from inside your product without the dashboard, use the Embedded SDK.
A connector token works for one API category only. An HRIS token used against an ATS endpoint returns 403, even though both credentials are valid.
Credentials that come from your customer's system
Values such as a client ID, client secret or refresh token belong to your customer's HR system, not to your Bindbee account. The setup guide for each integration, in the Setup Guides section of this help center, shows where your customer finds them.
