What file format do SFTP files need?

Each SFTP integration has a file template, and your customer's export must match it. We map every column by its name, so the column names must match the template exactly.

The template for each integration is linked from Set up an SFTP connection. If you can't find the one you need, contact us.

Rules the file must follow

• Use the column names exactly as they appear in the template.

• Keep the same file-name prefix on every export, for example Employee_Census.

• Give every file a slightly different name. Otherwise, the newest file overwrites the ones before it.

Check a sample before you go live

Before your customer schedules their regular exports, compare one sample file against the template: the same column names, the same file-name prefix, and a unique file name. If you'd like us to review it, email a sample with dummy data to [email protected], and we'll confirm it's ready.
