Can one customer have more than one connector?
Updated 4 days ago
Yes. A customer can have one connector for each system they use, and more than one connector for the same integration when they have several tenants of it. Each connector is authorized and synced separately and can break on its own. Each Production connector also counts toward your plan.
Connecting several systems
Create one connector per integration, for example one for their HRIS and one for their payroll system. You can use the same Unique Customer ID (origin_id) on each, because the ID only has to be unique within one integration.
Connecting several tenants of the same integration
Give each connector its own Unique Customer ID. We use this ID to tell connectors of the same integration apart, so connecting a second tenant with an ID that's already in use for that integration fails.
What differs between connectors
Employee IDs: the same person gets a different Bindbee ID in each connector.
Schedules and status: each connector has its own sync schedule and may need a relink independently.
Reads: to get all of a customer's employees, read from each of their connectors and combine the results.
One HR system shared by several of your accounts
When one company's HR system covers several locations that are separate accounts in your product, you don't need a connector per location. Use a single connector and split employees by group:
Call Get Groups and filter by
type, such asDIVISION,COST_CENTERorBUSINESS_UNIT, to find the groups that match your locations.parent_groupshows the hierarchy where the source system provides it.Filter Get Employees by
groupsto fetch each location's employees.
If the grouping your customer uses doesn't come through as a group, create a custom field from the group's raw_data.
